Former Ginetta racer Sherwood placed second, third and first in the latest three races at Brands Hatch recently (10-11 Sep) and now lies a creditable fifth in the Driver’s standings and is determined to finish the season in style
Jack qualified fifth for Races 1 and 2 and in the opening race, missed out on his second GB4 career victory by just 0.152s. With Sherwood running third, having dropped to fifth on the opening lap, the Safety Car was deployed for three-laps on lap four due to a brief rain shower and to recover a crashed car.
Sherwood snatched the lead on lap eight, passing two cars inside three corners, but ran wide exiting Surtees Corner, dropping back to third although he came through to take second place in a 10-lap thriller.
Jack scored a solid third in Race 2 despite being held up at the start, also setting the 12-lap race’s fastest lap, before scoring a very comfortable second win of the season, Sherwood snatching the lead on the opening lap from a fourth place grid start and cruising to a controlled near three-seconds victory.
Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager:
“Jack did a sterling job all weekend from start to finish at Brands. He was electric in the wet with some fantastic racing.
“I’d say the GB4 racing this weekend was some of the best single-seater racing I’ve seen in a long time.
‘Jack’s been consistently learning all season and his pace and race craft now is showing.
“I’m really looking forward to finishing on a high at Donington."
