Elite Motorsport are hoping for “home rule” at the next Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Championship event this weekend (13-14 Aug) when the 20-round competition makes its annual visit to Snetterton.

The Norfolk team’s base is just a stone’s throw from the track in Shipdham near Thetford and with its driver Tom Emson, who celebrated his 20th birthday last week, netting two podium place finishes in the latest races at Knockhill (30-31 July), Elite are looking forward to a good showing.

Emson claimed his best qualifying position of the season by claiming a front row start for Race 1 and followed that up with two solid third-place finishes. In the third and final race in Scotland, Tom again started from the front row and snatched the lead in the re-started race but suffered a mechanical issue on the opening lap causing retirement.

Tom now lies third in the Driver’s standings as do Elite in the title race.

Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager

"Having scored two podiums, it was a frustrating end to the weekend with a DNF in Race 3.

"That said, I believe that both Tom and our team turned a corner with the pace of our Elite G56 at Knockhill.

"I’m really looking forward to demonstrating a similar pace at Snetterton this weekend to keep our momentum moving forward."
