Lebbon and Bennett head to the season finale now placed fifth and ninth in the Driver’s standings with Elite still fourth but challenging for a top-three final placing in the Teams’ classification following multiple success in the most recent races at Brands Hatch (10-11 Sep).
Lebbon claimed his and Elite’s first GB3 Championship pole-positions at Brands but unfortunately a five-place grid penalty carried over from the previous event at Silverstone, meant a P6 start for Race 1, Tom coming home in that position handicapped by a mysterious lack of pace.
He brilliantly converted pole into victory in Race 2, his third win of the year, after a very impressive and mature lights to flag winning drive, finishing off the event with an 18th place finish following a pit-stop in Race 3 having started 20th on the 22-car grid in the Red flagged race.
Bennett, who celebrated his 19th birthday recently (15 Sep), qualified fifth for both races, equalling a best finish with fourth in the opener then a solid sixth – his ninth top-six finish of the season – prior to recording 14th from 16th on the reverse grid after the earlier race stoppage.
Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager:
“It was fantastic to get Elite’s first overall double pole in qualifying and with JB’s pace as well.
“I’m really pleased for my hard working team that we’ve developed such a fast car in both qualifying and race trim.
“Considering we are only running two cars, it’s fantastic to see us rising up the team championship and hopefully we can end the season on a high at Donington.”
