Michael Crees and Jack Mitchell join Tom Emson and Josh Rattican on the GT4 European Series grid at Monza next weekend (22-23 Apr) when Elite Motorsport makes it series debut.

Crees and Mitchell will be bidding for Pro-Am honours in the two, one-hour races at the infamous “Temple of Speed” Italian racetrack with Emson and Rattican gunning for Silver category success.

The Monza event marks Elite’s first event with their all-new McLaren Artura GT4, the Norfolk team being supported by Entire Race Engineering throughout the season.

Crees joined the British Touring Car Championship grid in 2019 after spending the previous season in the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup where he secured the Am Class, competing in BTCC again last year.

Mitchell also competed in the BTCC (2021) having won the 2014 Ginetta Junior Championship. He raced in the Renault Clio Cup UK, Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and the British GT Championship, winning the GT4 title in 2018.

Michael Crees (GB)

“To say I’m excited to race this weekend at Monza with Elite in the new McLaren Artura is an understatement.

“I tested the car a few weeks ago and loved every second.

“I’m full of confidence coming off the back of my recent BGT Oulton Park performance.

“With fellow former BTCC driver Jack Michell alongside.

“I would like to think we can push for class wins and good overall placings.”

Jack Mitchell (GB)

““I’m excited to be racing for Elite Motorsport in their new McLaren Artura GT4. I’ve known Ed since he first started running Ginetta Juniors and have been so impressed by the team’s progress and success in all categories they participate in.

“This fills me with confidence going into the weekend at Monza and I’m certain we can come away with some strong results. I did a shakedown in the McLaren last week and have testing on Thursday and Friday so that should be enough to get me up to speed around the iconic Monza circuit.

“We’re a very strong Pro-Am pairing so I’m certain we will have strong results in that class. I feel Michael and I could even push more towards the front end of the grid as the weekend goes on and we both get more familiar with the car and circuit.”

Eddie Ives, Team Owner & Manager

“Although it’s been a bit last minute, I'm extremely pleased that we've got our second McLaren out with such a quick duo.

“It’s fantastic to have an entry in both the Silver and Pro-Am classes.

“We know that both Michael and Jack are fast and we have great relationships with them both.

“I personally can't wait to see what we are able to achieve in the opening races at Monza this weekend.”
